The only difference is one has foam and one does not. The foam is not needed, it seems they stopped using it on later models. Wifi version housing does not include memory card door, memory card bracket, battery bracket or speakers. 3G version housing does not include memory card door or bracket, 3g card door or bracket, speakers or right speaker or bracket Top Plastic/LCD options- all are tested. Game Card/Accessory/Memory Card Doors Types- There are different types for each. These differ slightly with Japan/China/USA models, see pictures. All fit the same into any Vita 1000 and have the same shade/color of paint. Button boards- Wifi boards will work with 3g systems however there will be no 3g functionality as there are no antenna connectors on them. 3g version right button boards work on wifi version vita's. 3g version left button boards will not work with wifi vita's as there is a metal spring that will not fit the wifi version casing. Analog joy stick- these are interchangeable and can be used on either right or left side."Has Wear-" menu option has marks on the rubber circle or plastic surrounding the rubber circle. Screws- see third picture for screw locations.Screws With Wear menu options have oxidization on the screw head, they will still install normally. S/N + Model # Stickers- I use heat to remove the stickers, so they are flat with plenty of adhesive left. Safely remove your stickers by heating them with a hair dryer and a dull knife. Open/Cleaning Tools- Tool kit is magnetic with ultra strong N52 grade neodymium magnets, don't struggle installing those tiny screws. A great tool set to own, will open all portable devices. Also includes spudger to open plastic lock parts and cleaning brush.
